I still have not received word on today's HotCut. I remarked this morning that today is the first day on the 2017 schedule this far that there is not any early action. Perhaps this is the reason you have not yet sent word—that you have time and are using it...
I should have noted time on the above passage, but it was probably around 13:15 central daylight. At 14:13 central daylight, you sent the following message:
It's the StraightLegHotCut
I had to get some clarification as to who. I checked the pitching matchups and saw Arroyo, no deGrom. So it is Kevin Gausman and Baltimore heading to the GAB for a standing-scraper series, 18:10 tonight. We plan to be going to dinner at that time, so...
We have been texting some about the evening's action. I am trying not to be redundant. First pete, and then re-pete. I'm watching Nats at Braves. Harper had a double (2nd of night, 4th of season). Zimmermann doubled him in—fifth of season. SunTrustPark. It's 3-0 Nats. ScherZer. Dusty: toothpick not visible. The 'Cut clanked. It's 9-3 Reds, top 8. I have been keeping a record as to what the 'Cut was—but not of how it went. That could be done in the Winter of our Baseball Discontent. Still, anecdotally speaking, this is one of the most lopsided 'Cuts so far. I said this in text; no more.
*Breaking News* Emilio Bonifacio is STILL in the league. #64
Brewers - Cubs looks nutz so I'm going there. Cubs lead 8-7. Thames lines out 7 to Schwarber. RiZzo makes a tarpaulin catch on a Braun foul. Now Shaw, whom I doubted. Huge night. HR, 2 2B, a bag, 2 R.
I'm looking at tomorrow's slate. As I scrolled downward I was initially underwhelmed but then I saw a BumCut and then a KerCut. Bumgarner opposing J. Vargas—who has been good—but neither KC nor SF has a winning record. Of course, neither does LAD. It's probably a KerCut. I'm not trying to be Mr. Predictor Man, that's a throne I would abdicate (abnegate?). Teheran - Ross is OK but Ross hasn't pitched yet. Archer but he gets Jordan Z, who imploded last time out. Ubaldo's ERA is over 10. Liriano 9.00, Porcello 7.56. Tanaka 8.36? WTF. Felix - Volquez: CrossCountryCut. That's catchy. Cole - Wacha, could the hometown team steal the 'Cut spotlight? You just sent me a Freeman text. Love it.
FreeMan is 2-2 with 2 walks
