Reyes HotCut

Franmil?  Dennys?  Jo-Jo? No, we're talking about Alex Reyes for today's HotCut.  He makes his return to the major league mound after suffering an elbow injury and undergoing Tommy John surgery in the spring of 2017. by Corn Farmer on Flickr Reyes was sensational on a minor league rehab assignment this May, recording 44 strikeouts in 23 innings while allowing seven hits and seven walks. He will take the ball in mere moments! He faces the Milwaukee Brewers in Milwaukee in a 12:10 central daylight start.  Junior Guerra will pitch for Milwaukee. ReyesCut In the first, Reyes allowed a Yelich single, picked him off; recorded a couple of Ks and the inning was over.  Now Reyes himself is out on strikes.  After one-and-a-half there is no score in the 'Cut. Looking @ the League I want to use this blog as a place to remember.  What was happening in baseball late May 2018?  I see that Michael Brantley has a hit today.  He is a hit machine.  His average is .3

BronxCut

It's already top five in a BronxCut on Memorial Day.  The Houston Astros got a three-run homer from their fill-in at first base, J.D. Davis.  They lead the game 4-0.  Justin Verlander has pitched four innings for Houston, allowing zero runs on one hit and four strikeouts.  His ERA lay at 1.03. For the Yankees, Domingo Germán has pitched fairly well—despite the home run—through five innings, allowing four hits and one walk against six strikeouts.  Gleyber Torres, moved up to fifth in the batting order, so far has the Yankees' only hit. That's all I've got today, folks... I'm headed now across the Missouri River (after already having crossed the Mississippi earlier today) for backyard BBQ, fun and Cardinals baseball.  It's record heat in the St Louis area today, 91° already and looking at 95°.  Somebody, point me to the nearest waterfall...
