April 24, MileHighHotCut.

At 12:49 central daylight, about 45 minutes after I dropped you and Jocelyn at Lambert International, you texted me the following:  MileHighHotCut.

There is a lot to say, a lot to recap, I have just seen you and I have a body sense of something amongst absurdity, shock, and exhaustion—and therapy, like getting out of a spa, comfort.  Maybe not tonight but I wish I could see you again tomorrow or the next day or the day after that.  HotCut, HotCut, let me stay on track.

This could be the apex, the final high moment of Jacob Turner's career, as he opposes—not Cody, not Chase but Tyler—Anderson in Denver tonight at 19:40 central daylight, 18:40 mountain, 17:40 PDX.  It was funny hearing you talk about cursive and I can't remember if it was you or B talking about making Zeds but I chuckled inwardly knowing about this volume.  I will have finished it by the time of your birthday and I will hand it to you at the Big Stan Musial Statue, or some place and time thereafter before you go to Wedding Part Deux.

For the record, my ledger says there was no HotCut on April 22, 2017.  I assumed there would be less than 162, more like 150.  Do you realiZe that Tyler Anderson has a two-start streak of HotCut limelight?  Hehe.  His ERA is 7.32, WHIP 1.58.  But the Nats are 13-5 and the Rox are 13-6 (!).  I will catch at least a little.

It's Cubs at Pirates, a matchup I can watch eminently.  There's no one at PNC.  I've seen people in ponchos.  Schwarber taps out versus Chad Kuhl.  KB now.  I've missed logging these games, it's my meditation.  Jerry Meals behind the plate.  Bryant goes down swinging.  It's Steve Blass on the TV call tonight.  There are two different PIT crews and they alternate between radio and television.  Bob Walk is on the other crew.  I like Blass.  3-and-0 to RiZzo.  Foul.

RiZzo just took his fourth bag.  He was running before Kuhl even came set.  A light rain falls.  Zobrist also walks.  Kuhl is walking the danger line.  ...

I'm on the futon in the other room.  Cubs are destroying PIT and the Brewers are hitting Garrett and CIN early.  I'm not sure I'm gonna make the HotCut.  A commercial on the TEX broadast is proclaiming a vodka as being the official vodka of Cinco de Mayo.  Napoli doubles as Buxton can't quite get it.  Odor is at .187—he was so hot to start.  No RBI in his last eleven games.  Ha!  Double, and the RBI drought is over.  I noticed Leonys Martin was DFA'd recently.  I rode him hard in these pages.  Seattle will get Segura back from injury and SS Motter will go to the outfield, supposedly.

I am writing this against another small book behind it, I'm in repose, supine, on the futon, with a head lamp on.  I had some dead arm during my nap today.  It was the cigarettes.  It could have been the playing catch but more likely it was the Parlies.  I will hold onto them, enjoy one here and there.  Lucroy is off to a slow start, going 6-3 here, batting under .184.

Harper isn't playing tonight but Zimmermann is salivating in the thin Coors air.  Jacob Turner in a HotCut.  He joins César Valdéz...Blake Snell...and...Tyler Anderson.

Tyler A delivers.  The HotCut begins but I am too tired.  I fall asleep and listen to the KOA feed on the MLB app.
