April 30, HoustonHotCut.

At 12:40 central daylight word came east:  HoustonHotCut.  The rain finally stopped not long after.  I got out and began to clean up after the Rain-a-Thon.  I was listening to the 'Cut:  Keuchel at Hahn.  The game was somewhat close for most of its breadth but three Astro runs in the 8th sealed it.  Keuchel went 7 2/3 IP, 99 pitches, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 9 K.  Game score 82.  Hahn's ERA sits at 2.25 after 6 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 6K, 98 pitches, game score 54.  Keuchel's 2 BB were both of K-hris Davis.  There was another catcher's interference against Stephen Vogt with Reddick batting—third of the series apparently.

I've been texting you about Anthony Rendon's INSANE day against the erstwhile, woebegone Mets (Noah's start truncated a la bicep barking.)  Rendon is 6-for-6 with 3 HR and 10 RBI.  Orioles at Yanks rolls on, in extras, the sun peeks out here, Yanks were down 4-2 but tied it in the ninth.  We love John S. and Suzyn Waldman, they've been going in the kitchen for hours.  The O's take the lead in the 11th.

Later.  It's close to bridge territory.  Pads-Giants is 2-2 in the 11th.  Rockies-D'Backs are 0-0 in the 10th.  But there is no bridge yet because Phillies at Dodgers is 5-1 top 8, Dodgers.  Cubs at Red Sox starts in 70 minutes.  We've got Snakes-Rox on the radio in the kitchen now.  B has dinner going.  It's cloudy and windy out, the earth is attempting to expectorate all of this moisture.  Last check I saw 10.7" in April...but there were over 15" in April in 1996.

Bridging!  Suspension Bridge in the desert.  It's 0-0 in the bottom of the eleventh.  There was a play at second where eventually Pollock was called out but AZ radio says D.J. LeMahieu sought out the contact.  Pollock was livid.  Rusin works to Drury.  12 total hits in almost eleven innings, pre-humidor in Phoenix.  Thirty-three minutes more are needed until it is a successful bridge.  Sunday bridges are among my favorite.

We come back from walking June and the game in the desert is still scoreless, bottom 13.  The Sunday night game has started, the Suspension bridge has been completed, it's the Bridge of the Year so far.  ScuZzer bats.  Lyles pitches.  Scorless game on the TV, Sunday night Cubs at Red Sox on 101.1 FM.

ScuZzer!!!

Into the pool, no less.  Fuggeddaboutit.  It's his first career walk-off home run.  He gets the Gatorade and the Dubble Bubble.

How's a little bit of red ink strike your fancy, boy-o?  A little red for the Red Sox?  Jon Jay faces Eduardo Rodriguez.  Grubs have two on.  It's 2-0 Boston.  Jay down on strikes.  Seven Ks for E Rod, to the bottom of the fourth.
