May 2, UnCut.

I'm like a rudderless ship.  Games, games everywhere but not a game to sink my teeth into.  I've got Jays at Yanks on the radio—Yanks are up 5-0.  Snakes at Nats in the Capitol, which I figure would be the 'Cut.  It's 1-1 bottom two, a grind.  Walker - Roark.  Then there's Klublander in Detroit.  Those two are like a couple of neutron stars, unavoidably linked, gone pulsar.

Correction: I've been spelling Suzyn Waldman's name wrong.  I knew the spelling was unorthodox but I really jazzed it up going "Suzynne".  Nah, it's just "Suzyn".  One of the podcasts I listen to—"Short Hops" with Derek van Riper and Bernie Pleskoff—referenced her today in a positive light.  Judge homers.  He is Aaron, Judge, and jury.... And it's Judgment Day.  I liked the "Here comes the Judge" call from earlier in the season.   Latos.  The Cardinals couldn't touch him but the Yanks are up 6-0 on three homers.

D'Backs are in their road silvers with the fluorescent mint numbers and letters.  Roark walks Owings.  Shot of HaZelbaker in the snake-out.  B says he looks like Stras.  The stands are sparse in D.C.  Suzyn scoreboard:  Hanley goes deep, 2-0 Boston.  Goldy, number 44.  Owings, SB, no throw.  Goldy, 7.  Hamels, scratched, oblique.

Walker even has the fluorescent blue shoes, high socks, he's got a great build.  Wears #99.  Harper now, single and RBI in the first.  Fastball up and running out.  Change (?) outside at 90 mph.  Mets went out, out, out to Harp.  Fastball, 94 mph, out.  Fastball, 94 mph, out.  A quick walk.  Just save the pitches next time.  R-Zim.  Gardner plants one, again.  R-Zim the other way: picturesque.  It's 2006 again!  Someone runs on the field in the Bronx.  First pitch to D Murphy goes back up the box, it's 3-1 Nats.  It's the D.C. Meat Grinder.  Shot of Dusty, there's something in that mouth, unclear what.  Walker works to M Taylor, two out, bottom of the third, 77 pitches.  Coghlan at third for Toronto, it's rough for them.

Harvey for the Mets.  Freeman already unloaded, number ten.  But now he goes hard 8.  Kemp also goes hard 8.  It's 3-3, bottom of the third.  Harvey is mound dippin.  Markakis, two and two count.  Harvey's slider is nice and tight.  He fans Nick M.

Zach Britton returns, to a 5-2 BOS lead bottom eight.  Moreland, 1B.  Pedroia, BB.  I've now put STL hosting MIL on the radio.  It's supposed to rain a lot more here tomorrow and Thursday.  The Meramec is pushing 2015 freak Christmas flood levels in Pacific, Eureka, Valley Park.  I can't imagine they play ball tomorrow in STL.  Bradley Jr battles Britton.  Can of corn, Hardy whiffs on it...triple play!  Whoa.  Hardy whiffs, OK?  Ball falls, Hardy throws it to second, Schoop tags Moreland, who doesn't advance to third but must, Schoop steps on second (Pedroia forced out), Schoop throws to first to get Bradley Jr who inexplicably doesn't run to first.  Roy-o, I've never seen anything like that.  The inning ended with a silent thud.  Farrell came out to ask about infield fly rule applicability but the ball fell in the cozy outfield that is the expanse between the Boston infield and the Green Monster.  Kimbrel on to close it out.  Manny, 6-3.  Trumbo, .252 OBP.  Trumbo, 8.  Now, That Chris Davis.  Wicked slider, 1-and-2.  99 mph up and in, 2-and-2.  K.

Toothpick sighting!

Back in the Capitol.  Snakes in the rotunda!  A D'Back challenge fails, to the bottom of the seventh.  Commercial break in progress, Jake.  MLB.TV.  It has changed my life; at this moment it is much of my life—if only I could get some day games to make my hay while the sun does shine (before I start to drinking, ruining my capacity to stay awake, and eventually my ability to write).

Trea's OPS is .932.  He goes 8.  Werth now.  Remember Werther's Original?  When's the last time you had one of those?  I like them and it's been quite some time.  Werth, K.  Speaking of Jake, it is Jacob Barnes pitching for Milwaukee.  He is Jake Barnes!  He's pretty good, too.  Hoover 3-and-1 to Harper.  Foul, 3-and-2.  Harp's OBP is .509.  Williams's record is .551.  R-Zim the other way.  AZ broadcast, "Ryan Zimmermann just will not stop hitting."  Ha, how quickly times change.  The meat grinder turns and burns.  Murphy now.  Hoover is Broxton-esque.  Foul, 1-and-2, two out.  Inside, 2-and-2.  Murphy rips a toupée-loosener into the stands.  Slider, dirty, K.

James Hoyt fans Carlos Gómez.  It's Hoyt's first appearance this year, 22 games last year of a 4.50 ERA and 1.14 WHIP.  MarWin Gonzalez walks.  Hey, he's not been bad this year.  He plays everywhere.  Bregman, 0-for-2.  He's been bad so far.  MarWin will get some time from Bregman if this keeps up.  0-and-2 count.  I think that's Dyson out there.  8.  Banister on for a lefty, Alvarez.  I don't know him.

Blanton to Goldy, BB.  Goldy goes, SB.  Lamb IBB.  Then a double steal.  I was gonna say I hadn't seen Goldy steal a base before.  Next batter grounds out to pitcher.

Ray, it's that time again, it's Rodney time.  Last time was a dumpster fire.  Five runs I believe.  I realize now I need to type this up before I give it to you.  That is going to take some time.  Rodney's ERA is 12.60.   He has a 13/7 K:BB.  He's given up two homers.  He will face Werth, Harp, Zimm.  0-and-2 to Werth.  95 high.  96 high and out.  95 close, down and in—a strike, no call.  Foul, ump takes it off the mask and then a ricochet to his hand or leg.  Change, 83 mph, K.  Change looked pretty similar to the fastball, a little lower.  96 misses to Harper.  Moonshot foul.  Foul to left on 94.  High 96.  Harp fouls the change at 83.  97 low and in.  3-and-2 count.  Change at 84 goes 8.  Zimm is hitting .424.  He fouls 96 and it's 2-and-1.  Foul straight back, 2-and-2.  97 in, 3-and-2.  6-3 and that's it, arrow headed to Capitol Dome (credit to AZ tv).

I think MarWin just hit a granny.
