May 3, UnCut.

I'm missing the 'Cuts, two blank spots in a row but the show goes on.  C.C. is getting roughed up in the Bronx, 4-0 Jays, mostly on a 3-run Steve Pearce homer—this after he hit two yesterday.  D'Backs at Nats on MLB.TV.  Owings went deep.  He has made many errors but he has been a dynamic offensive contributor.  Robbie Ray deals to Trea Turner.  96 heat from Ray, fouled off.  It's Stroman for Toronto.  97 on the outside corner and Trea must've been looking for something else as he flails at it, K.  John S references three NYY super-subs:  Aaron Hicks, Ronald Torreyes, and Austin Romine.  My sense is that the Yankee pitchers like throwing to Romine.  Werth caught looking.  Harper swings through 96; fails to check on an 87-mph curve in the dirt; ball outside; slice foul on 98 away; 88 in the dirt, no swing but it was close; 96 high; full count:  Harp swings at 97 up and in—ugly.  Meanwhile, Holliday 3-run shot:  Happy Holliday, Happy Hollidaaaay...Matt has bat!  They love them some Holliday, 4 to 3 Jays.  Could it be the Crads shouldn't have let him go?  Eight homers, 18 RBI.  Do those lead STL?  Judge singles.  Then he gets caught in the act by R Martin.  Stray curve from Gio.  It's cloudy in the Capitol but Dave McKay has his shades on in the first-base box.  Mathis, 9.  Ray, bunt, FC 1-4.  AZ has turned their lineup over, two out, top two.  Pollock, BB, but Gio was getting squeezed.  Owings' OPS is .900.  But he goes 9.  Gio chats with the ump in the interlude.

deGrom breeZed through the first in 9 pitches.  Kemp is slugging .734.  K on a slider low and away.  Markakis 7.  Flowers lands a flare that T.J. Rivera can't quite get.  B says deGrom is being finicky. He fans Peterson.  29 pitches.

All rise, for the Judge.  Yeah, he does it again.  I'm pretty sure he leads the league with that blast—a "Judgian" blast to Monument Park.  It's 6-5 Jays.  13 homers for Judge.

Stroman left this game early with discomfort in his right armpit.  We have kept changing games on the MLB Roku app.  We saw Billy Hamilton pull a 3-run homer down the right field line off of Taillon, who was getting gotten-to.  We watched a replay of Sam Holbrook tossing Gausman after Gausman hit Bogaerts with a curve that didn't curve in the second.  Now I'm on Rangers at Astros.  I saw Correa double.  Houston leads 4-0.  McCann 4-3.  Now, MarWin, who is becoming a star in these pages.  His uniform is dirty, he has doubled.  Nick Martinez on the mound... he has been kicking around in Texas and their minor orgs for years now.  MarWin 4-3.  Kyle Higashioka, 0-for-16 career, Yanks' backup catcher, up with the bases loaded, facing demotion when Sánchez returns... after this game, says Suzyn.  Morton hadn't given up a hit through 3 IP but the "Dirt Devil" Odor just ripped a double to the base of the right field wall.  Andrus 6-3.  Bases loaded, full count, two out in NYY...  foul back and Martin runs out of room.  Biagini pitching.  Caught looking, 6-5 Toronto after five.  Lucroy 6-3.
