June 15, Full Text of the Phillips 66 Commercial vs. Colby Rasmus's Neck Beard.

Am I Still 'Cutting and Bridging?

Is the sun still shining?  Is the rain still raining?  Is FP Santangelo still making weird statements about why fans are booing Bryce Harper when he comes to bat?

I ended the last entry with a backfoot slider.  An Ollie Pérez backfooter to get Conforto is the first pitch of this entry.  Ollie, at 35, is grey under the cap.  Former Padre, former Met, former Pirate.  The Nats lead the Mets 8-2, bottom 8.  Dusty to the mound on his birthday.

Phillips 66.

"We should get gas."

"That Phillips 66?"

"Yeah."

"Sure."

"Is that Colombian?"

"Ecuadorian."

"It's nice."

Texts from you about Wacha, exasperation setting in—but what's that now?  Two doubles from Marp?  Back to his old tricks in the leadoff spot.  Here's Joe Blanton, 8.36 ERA.  His batting average against when facing the first batter he sees is .571.  Wilmer just took him out.  Blanton is done.  Céspedes, FO 3.

"Suspects are southbound, officers in pursuit...."

Rays at Tigers

Colby neck beard, K Rod mound chaw, it's Rays at Tigers.  Not That Daniel Robertson, 6-3.  It's tied at 3, top 8.  Beckham on.  "This kid's having the best year of his career."  Ten homers, yeah, but what does that mean in 2017?  Eighty-some strikeouts.  He's batting .282.  It's a pretty thin baseball slate right now.  I listened to Indians over Dodgers earlier.  Then White Sox over Orioles.

Into the game is Jumbo Diaz, throwing 97 mph gas.  He gets a fly-out to right.  Now Castellanos, .704 OPS, 33 RBI, 0-for-3 tonight.  He sends one sharply back up the middle.  Look out, Jumbo!  Alex Presley, one of the older baseball players in terms of cat-year age.  Pirates, Twins, Tulsa, Fargo, this is his ninth life right here in Detroit.  He fans on 88 up and away.

Jed Lowrie, the Original Jed-Head.

He already has in his pocket, no not a vial of cocaine but the two most difficult-to-achieve legs of a cycle:  homer and triple.  In the hole at 0-and-2 he looks at a Jordan Montgomery fastball high and away.  A dirtball and Lowrie skedaddles.  Pinder is on first, there are two outs.  Strikeout.  Judge due up, it's arraignment time.

Judge must've gotten out.  Castro singled and put his arm around Alonso at first.  Alonso gave him the look of, "Why are you hugging me?"  Maybe not, maybe they know each other and I'm reading it wrong.  Alonso has been in the news.  I heard a reference to an interview he gave about his flight from Cuba, his dad waking him up and saying, "We are leaving."  They haven't played together on any major league clubs, they are not from the same country.

Here's Didi.  Upping the sound I get Sterling, crowd sounds, Suzyn.  Sterling calls Gray's breaker a knuckle curve.  Didi singles but the runner from second doesn't score.  Didi's hit streak goes to seventeen, here's Headley.  The bases are loaded and there's one out, 1-and-1 the count, Doolittle warming.

Headley singles, drives in two.
