You are out near Hood River for the weekend but you are still 'Cutting. At 11:06 central daylight you issued the edict: MotorCity HotCut.
It's been two months since Detroit was in the HotCut. Tampa appeared a couple of times in May. Michael Fulmer is listed to pitch for Detroit, despite reports earlier this week that he is battling shoulder bursitis. On the hill for Tampa, in his second 'Cut of the season, is Chris Archer. The impact of the bursitis appears to be clear from Fulmer's work over the last month. In 26 1/3 IP he has struck out fourteen batters and posted a 1.37 WHIP. Over that same time Archer has thrown 34 innings while striking out a whopping 49 batters and posting a 1.12 WHIP. The Rays would seem to have the advantage heading into this one.

Todd FraZier has left the building, putting the White Sox up 1-0 on Marcus Stroman and the Blue Jays. Matt Davidson gets in the act, going back to back with Frazier, hitting his fifth home run in six games. Kevin Barker, who filled in some on Blue Jays radio last year and is doing so again this year, called that Stroman offering to Davidson a cement mixer. I gathered from banter during a broadcast earlier this year that Barker played professionally and that he was something of a journeyman. I heard him mention playing winter ball in Mexico. I see now that he hit 247 career home runs in the minors and six in the majors.
