October 1, The Final Cut: The Sunday Shotgun Start.

The onslaught begins in about a minute.  It's 14:05 central daylight.  Most games begin now but a few will start in five or ten or even fifteen minutes.  The idea behind this Sunday Shotgun start is to put all competitors in the same state, allowing no team an advantage of knowing what has already happened in another game.

It looks like Detroit at Minnesota is delayed.

I'm Moving.

San Diego is already on the board.  That's Johnny Cueto for San Francisco.  Carlos Asuaje rips one foul—he is in the hole.  He singles.  Rough start for Cueto after a miserable season that never even got off the ground.

I'm going to jump around a lot today.  There are certain players I need to see.  Solarte singles to left. Erick Aybar scores.  I'm moving.

Pivetta

Nick Pivetta strikes out Nori Aoki.  The fastball is an easy 94.  There's a curve at 79 that is high and not bendy enough.  Then he hits Phillip Evans with the next attempt.  A fastball away at 96 to Nimmo.  Jam-job, 4.  Here's Dom Smith.  A fastball at 96 misses.  97 is a taxi headed right down Broadway but Smith has Über, apparently.  Next is 97 again but it's low and away, the 17th pitch.  Someone named Nido is on deck.  96 away.  Let's see the curve again.  Nope, 96, fouled.  Now the curve but it misses away.  Catcher to the mound.  Pivetta is close to being quite good.  He needs to be able to locate that curve.  Nido fends off 96.  A curve goes from Nido's bat to right field, holding a ticket that reads "Sun Adventure", but it has one act only, 9.

Ay Dios Gio

I want to stay here so as not to miss Thor but Gio is getting touched by the Pirates.  It's 5-0 Rats, top 1!
